Quickly & Easily Speed Up Your Mac!
Tidy Up by Hyperbolic Software has released what I consider to be the easiest-to-use and most intuitive duplicate file removal software currently available, exclusively for Mac users.
The difference between Tidy Up and other methods is that the entire process is easy, fast, and secure.
Take a look to see what I mean…

When there are too many files stored on your hard drive, it can affect your computer’s overall
performance making it slow and sluggish. One way in which you can free up some space is to
ensure that you do not have any duplicate files which are using up space unnecessarily. You can do
this by using free trial versions of software which is designed to eliminate duplicate files.
There are plenty of free trials of this type of software, including ‘Easy Duplicate Finder’ from
software publisher WebMinds. Easy Duplicate Finder is compatible with Windows operating
systems from Windows 2000 onwards, although there are separate versions available for
Windows 98 and for portable devices. The program offers a free trial which is fully functional
unlike many free trials which will find the duplicates but require purchase to remove them.
Easy Duplicate Finder uses a three step process to eliminate duplicate files. The first step is to
add the folders you wish to search and define the file mask using the easy drop down menu.
The software can eliminate duplicate files of various types including photographs, music files,
documents and duplicate emails in Outlook. Once you press start to trigger the second step the
program will very quickly find and display any duplicate files in your specified folders. While the
scan is being performed you can export the findings in order to review the disk space used by the
duplicates and other information gathered during the search. The final step is to decide what to do
with the duplicates once they have been identified. You have several options available including
renaming the files, deselecting all the files to keep them, renaming the files or deleting selected
files.
If you think you may have a large number of duplicate files on your computer, then it makes sense
to try out a free application to eliminate duplicate files. You can then determine whether it is
worth purchasing the full program for future use.
At the time of this writing, I think that Tidy Up (Mac) and PC Health Advisor (PC) are best for an easy duplicate finder.
